Cannery Store Features: Lucky Loonie

With the Beijing Olympics underway, it’s the perfect time to get a Lucky Loonie now available in the Cannery Store!  Produced by the Royal Canadian Mint, the Lucky Loonie is part of a series of 17 commemorative coins marking the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.  In addition to the Lucky Loonie, the Cannery Store carries a number of other collectible coins and select Vancouver 2010 Olympic merchandise.

What is the Lucky Loonie?
The legend of the Lucky Loonie began during the 2002 Winter Olympics when a Canadian icemaker buried a loonie under centre ice and both the men’s and women’s hockey teams subsequently won gold medals.
