Richmond home town favourite Charlotte Diamond closed out this summer’s Music at the Cannery series on Friday, August 28th. After a blustery morning, the evening was clear and warm and a sold out crowd of nearly 300 children and their parents came out to enjoy fabulous kids’ music. Diamond and her son, Matt, played old favourites as well as new songs from her upcoming album. After the concert, she stayed to sign autographs for young fans as well as some pretty excited Cannery staff and volunteers.

As the season came to a close, we would like to thank a few people without whom this series wouldn’t be possible. First, a thank you to our sponsor, G&F Financial who help keep this event by donation, and The Beatmerchant, Steveston’s own record store. We also couldn’t do it without our fabulous volunteers, who are there every single week to help us set up and take down, sell drinks and snacks, and greet our guests. Last of all, thank you to all of YOU, our guests. It has been a pleasure to share Friday evenings with you. And from this letter to the editor, we see that you’ve enjoyed it too.
