The Cannery was buzzing with excitement on Canada Day with a record number of visitors to our museum, totalling over 6,000 people! And, for the first time this year, we offered a family-fun outdoor Cannery Carnival, where kids enjoyed funĀ carnivalĀ games and Ā prizes,Ā a bouncy castle,Ā face painting, and much more! Ā The entire event could not have taken place without the help of over a hundred hard-working, enthusiastic “Cannery Crew” volunteers and our generous sponsors:

Pythagoras Academy
Molson Canadian
Seafair Gourmet Meats
A&W Seafair
PriceSmart Foods (8200 Ackroyd Road)
Safeway (Steveston locations)
Diplomat Bakery
Steveston Bakery
Save-on-Foods Ironwood
Cobs Bread (Blundell & No. 2 Road)
Richmond Community Orchestra and Chorus Association
Broadmoor Bakery
& all the talented bakers who donated their delicious creations for the Cake Walk!

Thank you to everyone — volunteers, sponsors and visitors — who helped to make this an enjoyable Canada Day at the Cannery for all!
