Rivers’ End Fisher Poets Afternoon – Culture Days
Join us for Rivers’ End Fisher Poets on Saturday, September 28th from 2 to 3:30pm. This year’s gathering will be held during Richmond’s Culture Days. Admission is free.
A crew of current and retired commercial fishers will share their creative writing about the industry in this celebratory and casual afternoon. Local fisher poet Wilfred Wilson and friends were inspired by fishing the many rivers along BC’s rugged West Coast. The allure of fishing will shine through their words. This is the third year that the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society has hosted the gathering organized by Wilson and inspired by the annual Fisher Poets event in Astoria, Oregon.
The readings will take place in the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site’s Boiler House Theatre.
