This Halloween, dive to the darkest depths of The Haunted Sea at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site and explore what lurks in the fathoms below!  Encounter spooky sea creatures and twisted tentacles floating alongside historic legends and sea lore.  Entertain your imagination with games, crafts, activities and a journey into the deep and learn about the true terror of the seas!

The historic cannery in Steveston celebrates Halloween with the return of The Haunted Sea – colourful undersea decor created from recyclable materials, kept from haunting the real ocean depths, transforms the Herring Reduction Plant for our annual event. Drop-in between 11am to 4pm, and enjoy Halloween crafts, activities, and treats. Join story-time with the Richmond Public Library in the Kids’ Alcove.

Haunted Sea tours will alternate between ‘not so-scary’ for the little ones, and ‘dare to be scared’ for the older kids (7+).
– Friendly exploration tours led by the Halloween Crab will start from 11:30am and repeat at every :00 & :30 past the hour.
– Scarier tour times will start at :15 and :45 past the hour starting at 11:45am, with Haunted Sea characters popping out from hidden corners and coves.

Costumes are encouraged!
