Come find us at our iconic red Cannery tent at the Richmond Maritime Festival food area on August 6 & 7 at the Britannia Shipyards in Steveston. Enjoy the family-friendly festivities, and grab some freshly grilled, sustainably fished wild pink salmon, with a side of coleslaw, chips and a drink (pop, water, juice) for $10 per plate or $15 for two! What a delicious deal!

This will be our 3^rd year at the festival serving Wild Salmon BBQ to fundraise for the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society. This year we are excited to receive the generous support of Canfisco and Loblaws City Market (Steveston HWY) in making this fundraiser possible.

The Society is a charitable, non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and promote the history of Canada’s West Coast fishing industry.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society’s 2017 project, Salmon and Cod: Celebrating the History of Commercial Fishing in Canada — from European exploration of the shores of Newfoundland in search of lucrative cod, to the thriving salmon trade of First Nations in BC, commercial fishing in Canada played an important role in establishing what it means to be Canadian. The project centres on a feature exhibition augmented by programming that brings to life the stories of Canadian fishing for school children and the general public.
