A community effort – Interwoven: Salmon-River-Tree exhibit

Members of the Richmond Weavers and Spinners Guild spent a long day at the Cannery yesterday to install the Interwoven: Salmon-River-Tree exhibit, created in collaboration with artist Marina Szijarto.  The materials used to create the woven fish of the “Salmon River Tree” are all made from plants indigenous to Richmond. The fish themselves were woven by members of the guild and members of the community, at local community events such as the Richmond Maritime Festival and Culture Days; each fish is made by a different person, making them uniquely different! The exhibit will be on display throughout this summer.
