These photos of Deas Island Regional Park, were shared with us by Society volunteer Shamim, who has recently been taking advantage of our summer weather by discovering outdoor walking venues around Metro Vancouver. This park is just a few minutes’ drive south of the Cannery, located in Delta, BC.

She took special notice of these plaques describing John Deas, after whom the island was named. John Deas, a cannery owner in the late 1800s is featured in our current exhibition The Label Unwrapped. You can read more about the history of Deas in this blog from last fall.
