Photo of the Week
It’s Wednesday! And, as we told you last week, that means it’s time for the photo of the week. Each week we will be presenting a different mystery photograph which we need your help identifying. This week, we have an unknown machine for you. If you know what it is, you can post a comment or email Rachel with your answers. Thanks for your help!
This week’s photo:
1998.022.011
Taken sometime between 1910 and 1950, this photo shows a piece of machinery used in the can-making industry. It is not clear what this machine was used for precisely, but it appears in the Murray-Latta Collection, which consists of other photographs related to the production of tin cans for the salmon canning industry. Looking closely at the picture, this machine is possibly reforming flattened can side pieces into rounded shapes. This photograph measures 8 X 10 inches.
