Photo of the Week

This weekend is the long weekend, which means it’s a great time to explore BC. Hopefully while you’re exploring you’ll come across the location or some information on one of our mystery photos!

The long weekend is also a great time to get those perfect photos for your Fishing the West Coast entry. The contest closes next Friday, August 6. Can’t pick just one of your fabulous photos? That’s okay, you can submit up to 10! We look forward to receiving your entries.

Last but not least, don’t forget that you can also bring us your archival photos for digitization.

And now for this week’s photo:

G2009.005.001

Photo July 28

Taken sometime in the 1950s, this photograph shows an aerial view of Steveston facing northwest. Many of the buildings in this photo have yet to be identified, although it is possible to see the old Steveston Tram rail line in the photograph (center). Do you recognize any structures in this picture? This photo is part of the Henry Tegrillas Fonds and measures 8 X 10 inches.

As always, if you can help us identify the buildings in the photograph, please either post a comment or email Rachel.
