Plight of the Salmon Featured in Film Festival

The Mission World Community Film Festival is taking place October 1-3 at Heritage Park school, featuring over 30 different documentaries about local community issues.   One of the main themes featured at this year’s event is wild salmon.  Organizer Elena Edwards feels very passionately for this issue, “which is why she organized the films and discussion groups for Oct. 1 with the theme In Praise of Wild Salmon.”

The Friday night event will include two films; the first is a documentary that follows a crusader as she seeks to save wild Pacific salmon, while the other explores the problems caused by open net cage salmon farms.
