Fishermen Helping Kids with Cancer 2013

This third annual herring sale hosted by fishermen takes place at the south end of Trites Road in Steveston, Richmond, BC (12740 Trites Road) on November 30th, from 7am until every fish is sold. A 20-pound bag of herring sells for $10, cash only.

  • The 2011 and 2012 herring sales raised a combined total of $135,000.
  • 100% of all herring sale proceeds go to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation to help kids with cancer.
  • All fishing, processing and event costs are donated by industry and community volunteers and sponsors.

This year’s sale will be the biggest event yet. Last year the herring was sold out by noon, so fishermen are catching double the fish this year.

If you can’t go to the sale, click here to make an online donation at BC Children’s Hospital Fundraising Page.

More details about the herring sale can be found on the Fishermen Helping Kids with Cancer page.
