Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup – Garry Point public beach

Join the Cannery’s cleanup of Garry Point Park public beach on Saturday, September 28th. Meet us at the entrance to Kuno Garden, near the southwest corner of the Garry Point parking lot, at 1:00pm. We’ll supply all the cleaning supplies. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (no sandals, please). Register for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

The great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup has been a national program since 2002 and last year 57,442 participants nation-wide filled 12,895 garbage bags while cleaning 3,102 km of shoreline. The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited, is one of the largest direct action conservation programs in Canada. A conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF, the Shoreline Cleanup aims to promote understanding of shoreline litter issues by engaging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups.

You can also adopt any shoreline near you, such as a local river bank, lake shore, beach, pond edge, or stream. Visit ShorelineCleanup.ca to find or propose a shoreline near you that still needs help.
