New Stream of Dreams installation at the Cannery

If you have walked along the dyke on the north side of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site recently, you may have noticed that our fence along the side compoundĀ has been decorated with a new Stream of Dreams mural of bright and beautiful fish!Ā  TheĀ Stream of Dreams Murals Society participated in The Pull of the Net multicultural festival which took place at the Cannery on May 5th.Ā  The Society is an award-winning environmental education and community art program. They present a salmon-focused education program that teaches participants that ā€œall drains lead to fish and wildlife habitatā€.

At the festival, participants were invited to paint a ‘dream’ fish after learning about their local watershed and what they can do to prevent water pollution. Ā These colourful dream fish are now installed on our fence as a reminder to everyone who walks by to protect fish habitat.
