Beauty Shop Dolls enchants evening concert goers

After a great performance by Rock Line (July 27), Music at the Cannery was back in action this past Friday (Aug 3) as patrons were serenaded by the lovely Beauty Shop Dolls for the series’ first concert of August.

The crowd was transported back in time as the trio hailing from Vancouver sang a variety of tunes from the 1920s-60s.  Singing old hits like “Button Up Your Overcoat” and the ever-popular “I Got Rhythm”, the ladies also performed “Bei Mir Bistu Shein”, a Yiddish song translated into English and popularized by the Andrews Sisters.  The Dolls were a hit, drawing in a sold-out crowd to hear their harmonies as the sun slowly started to set on what was yet another great night of the Cannery’s popular music series.

This Friday August 10, join us for what is sure to be a rousing evening of Celtic tunes with the Irish Wakers. All Music at the Cannery concerts begin at 6:30pm (doors open at 6pm), and will be held outdoors on the Cannery’s Tank Deck or indoors if rain. Admission is $7 ($5 Kids 7-17).
