Maritime Melodies for Music at the Cannery

“The sun was setting in the west…” as the Halifax Wharf Rats opened up with the east-coast classic “Farewell to Nova Scotia” on July 20th at Music at the Cannery.

The Vancouver-based group, with members Brian Flanagan, Michelle Carlisle, Brendan Mooney, and Allan Dionne, jammed to a full house and were absolutely lovely to their audience. The band’s upbeat tunes lifted everyone’s spirit and even inspired some guests to get up and dance! Familiar tunes like “I’se the B’y” and “Four Strong Winds” encouraged the enthusiastic audience to sing-along as well. Their Maritime music lightened the hearts of all those in attendance.  The ambiance of the setting sun provided the perfect backdrop to what was another enjoyable Friday evening at the Cannery.

Join us for our next concert on Friday July 27th for Rock Line, a father and son duo that will guarantee a night of brilliant Brit Rock beats! Admission is $7 ($5 for kids 7-17); doors open at 6pm and seating is first-come, first-served.
