Music at the Cannery 2013
The line-up for Music at the Cannery 2013 is complete! The Cannery’s summer music series, Music at the Cannery, sponsored by G&F Financial Group, is presented in collaboration with The Beat Merchant. The series starts on July 5th and continues every Friday night until August 30th, rain or shine. Shows start at 6:30, but please arrive early to ensure a seat. Admission by donation.
July 5 | LoLo Bianco plays hits of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Be ready to have some fun with the lively percussion work of Ray Ayotte and inspired arrangements of Doug Louie on keyboards. |
July 12 | Darren Specht and the Blues Hawks draw influences from authentic roots mixed with boppin’ jump, rockabilly, Latin jazz, and sizzling funk. |
July 19 | Gerry Layton brings you the best pop hits of the ’60s and the 70’s. |
July 26 | Dancetime Big Band will get your feet tappin’. This 10-piece swing band will be playing your favourite classic hits! |
Aug. 2 | The Jessica Stuart Few, a folk jazz power trio, is one of the hottest groups to emerge from Canada’s eclectic indie folk scene. |
Aug. 9 | Hang-Ten Hangmen are surf rockers travelled forward through time from some previous period to teach the people of the 21st century how to play surf music. |
Aug. 16 | Now’s the Time play anything from swinging blues and bebop to favourite standards and gentle ballads They are sure to provide a perfect setting for the Steveston sunset. |
Aug. 23 | Harpdog Brown and Brandon Isaak are one of Canada’s newest, coolest acoustic blues duos. Expect toe-tapping harmonies, great song writing, and an exceptional performance! |
Aug. 30 | Sibel Thrasher brings her own brand of classy jazz to Steveston with her smooth, unforgettable voice. |
