After working on “What’s Afloat,” this year’s exhibit on boats of the Fraser River, I’ve acquired a new appreciation for work boats. It was with a tinge of sadness that I learned of the demise of a historic tugboat. The Florence Filberg, a former U.S. Army tugboat, met a fiery end over the weekend. She had been grounded in Sooke Harbour for the last 3 years. Read more about it.
