Heat wave adds to salmon’s migratory obstacles (Vancouver Sun)

The smoky haze invading the skies and air around Metro Vancouver is a stifling reminder of the effects of an extreme heat wave on our natural environment. The recent high temperatures and tinder dry conditions are not only threats to our forests, but also to our rivers and the wildlife which live in and around them. The Vancouver Sun reports on the effects of these warmer temperatures on BC’s salmon, adding yet another threat to their already hazardous migratory odyssey.
