Celebrating Canada 150 in 2017

A new year is just around the corner, and many of you have already heard about or ordered a Parks Canada 2017 Discovery Pass, allowing pass holders to enter Parks Canada National Parks, National Marine Conservation Areas and National Historic Sites for free for the entire year!  But did you know that these commemorative passes are also available at most of the Parks Canada sites — including the Gulf of Georgia Cannery NHS?

Not only will the Cannery offer free regular admission* during 2017, but we also have the 2017 Discovery Passes available for anyone who enters our site, starting January 2 (the Cannery is closed on January 1) – there’s no need to order them advance of visiting the Cannery.

We’ll have many more announcements of special Canada150 events which we have planned for 2017 in the new year – we hope you’ll be joining us in the celebration!

*For more about the 2017 Discovery Pass: In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation in 2017, the Government of Canada invites Canadians to experience and learn more about our environment and history. All visitors to national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada are free of admission in 2017.  Please note that enhanced programming, including school and group programs and booked tours, special events, venue rentals, and birthday parties, the pass will not be applicable.
