Scrumptious Seafood: Tuna Pasta
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery was honoured to have Yumi Matsushita, a Japanese exchange student volunteer working with us for four weeks. Given Japan’s proximity to the sea, its residents rely heavily on seafood. I asked Yumi to contribute Japanese recipes for our Scrumptious Seafood posts. Here is her second contribution:
Tuna pasta
Do you ever get tired just thinking about what to cook every day? I sometimes feel like I want to eat something new but making new recipes can be troublesome. Today I introduce you one of my favourite pasta dishes. The recipe is from COOKPAD which is Japan’s largest and very useful recipe web site. This pasta takes 15 minutes, is easy to cook and is so delicious!! You may taste a little of Japan in it too! So I strongly recommend you to try it. Once you eat it, you’ll be addicted!
Ingredients:
- 160g pasta
- 1 can tuna (B.C. albacore tuna is a sustainable option)
- 2 tsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp soup stock
- olive oil – to taste
- chopped nori – to taste
Directions:
- Boil and drain pasta.
- Mix tuna, mayonnaise and soup stock.
- After pasta is cooked, heat up a pan with oil and put in pasta until all the water has evaporated.
- Add soy sauce and combine pasta and tuna mixture.
- Add chopped nori on the top, now it is ready to eat!!
