Ryoshi – Nikkei Fisherman of the BC Coast
Ryoshi – Nikkei Fisherman of the BC CoastĀ is an exhibit opening at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre on September 15th and will run until May 19th, 2013. The exhibit tells the stories of Japanese Canadians who have made unique contributions to fishing in BC both before and after World War II.
The grand opening on Saturday will be a family friendly afternoon of fish tales, fun activities and salmon samples. Check out their website for further information about the exhibit, tour times, special talks and films offered in association with the exhibit.
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery staff is honoured to have been involvedĀ with the organizers of this exciting new exhibit this past year. The Gulf of Georgia Cannery’s collections make up a large part of the exhibit and we are happy to announce that Ryoshi willĀ travel to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery asĀ our next temporary exhibit in late springĀ 2013.
