If we want wild salmon, it is up to us
The Vancouver Institute offers free lectures on Saturday evenings in autumn and spring. This week’s lecture will be presented by Alexandra Morton. Ms. Morton has been an out-spoken opponent of open-net salmon farms on BC’s coast. As a biologist, she began to study the interaction of farmed and wild salmon and together with scientists from around the world measured the significant impact of salmon farms on fish and whales. Ms. Morton has co-published two dozen papers on this controversial subject in scientific journals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
The lecture takes place this Saturday at 8:15 pm, Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre at UBC.
