Last Farmers’ Market of the 2012 year – December 16th

2010_11_22 014

The Winter Steveston Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market will host its last market of the 2012 in the Gulf of Georgia Cannery on Sunday, December 16th from 11am to 4pm. As the market won’t start up again until February 10th, 2013, be sure to load your shopping bags full of holiday supplies and stock up your pantries. The vendors have a variety of pantry items, including: honey, dried goods, hand cut vegetable chips and potato chips, frozen items such as beef, chicken, smoked salmon, samosas, and the fresh farm eggs can last up to two months in your refrigerators. There are a number of  seasonal baked goods available at the market that get tastier with age too – look out for fruitcake, gingerbread and lebkuchen. Additionally, we anticipate a few more local artisans to come out this festive market. Come by and find special gifts for your friends and family, and take joy in participating in a Steveston community event, the Winter Market.

While at the market, tickle your holiday spirit with a little visit to the Festival of Trees also taking place inside the Cannery. Can you find the tree decorated by the Once Upon a Time crew? Vote for your favourite tree and you could win a prize!

Farmers Market dates in the new year are as follows:

  • February 10th and 24th
  • March 10th and 24th
  • April 7th and 21st
