Parks Day at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery – July 21st

On July 21st, Parks Day 2012, a new temporary exhibit entitled C is forThe Cannery will be opening at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. The exhibit aims to answer visitors’ frequently asked questions, which often arise during a canning line tour or while perusing other exhibits. Many of the topics found throughout our alphabet owe their presence to the interpretive staff’s continued enthusiasm for all things Cannery-related. Drop in to visit our letter maze, complemented by artefacts and archival photographs. You may discover a new tidbit of information about the fishing industry or social history of the canneries’ heyday! C is for Cannery…or is it?

In addition to this, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery will feature special kids crafts in honour of Parks Day.

Come and join us in celebrating Parks Day this Saturday!
