Seafood for Thought exhibit – last two weeks

temp exhibit

Celebrate National Sustainable Seafood Day on Friday, May 3rd and visit the Cannery’s Seafood for Thought exhibit to learn more about how you can make positive changes for healthier oceans. This year’s temporary exhibit about fishing practices, sustainable seafood and making wise consumer choices, will be coming down within the next two weeks. If you have not had the opportunity to visit the exhibit and learn about the sustainability of our oceans, come by the Cannery today!

Additionally, Gulf of Georgia Cannery is pleased to host, in conjunction with this year’s theme of sustainability, the  second edition of Natural Capital, an exhibit based on 8 beaches around the Lower Mainland. Natural Capital was created by Emily Carr University of Art and Design students, in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation (DSF), and in collaboration with the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto.

If you can not make it within the next two weeks, join us for our annual Best Catch, Sustainable Seafood Festival taking place on Saturday, September 14th or make your contribution to cleaning up the waterways by joining our Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up of the beaches around Garry Point Park on September 28th, 2013.
